Privacy notice
How TEND uses information about you. Last updated 1 November 2026.
Who we are
TEND is run by Seed and Solace Limited (trading as Seed & Solace), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14087585, registered office 4th Floor, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6EB, which decides how your information is used. Questions about your information: sam@seedandsolace.com.
The free scan
- When you scan a website, TEND reads up to 15 of its public pages, the same pages anyone can see. It never logs in and never changes anything.
- We keep a short note of each scan: the website, when it was scanned, how many pages were read and the main things found. A copy of that note is emailed to us, so we can see how TEND is used and improve it.
- If ideas for your website are switched on, the text of the pages read is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write them. It is not used to train their models.
- If you ask us to email you the results, we use your email address only to send them. We do not add you to a mailing list.
- A shared results link carries the results inside the link itself. Anyone you give the link to can see them.
Buying a full audit
- We keep your name, email address, website and your answer about adding plugins, to make and deliver your audit and to send the emails that go with it.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe tells us the payment was made.
- We send you your audit, a confirmation of your order, and two short emails about using your audit: one a few days after it arrives and one before your free re-checks end. Reply to any of them if you would rather not have the rest.
- Your audit is private. It opens only with its passcode, which we store in a form that cannot be turned back into the passcode.
- If you send us your fix list for a quote, we receive the changes on it and any note and reply address you add.
The TEND plugin
- The plugin runs on your website. The changes it makes and its record of them stay in your WordPress.
- It may fetch the newest copy of your audit from our website. It never sends us your customers’ details, your passwords or anything else from your WordPress.
Cookies and what your browser keeps
- When you log in to an audit, a cookie keeps you logged in to that audit on that browser for up to a year. It is needed for the audit to work.
- Your browser also keeps a few things on your device only, such as which fixes you have made, your fix list and the figure you typed into the payback calculator. They never leave your device unless you send them.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else handles information for us
- Vercel, which hosts TEND, and Upstash, which keeps short-lived records such as login attempts.
- Resend, which sends our emails, from the European Union.
- Stripe, for payments, and Anthropic, for written ideas.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the lettering on our pages and sees your browser’s address when it does.
Some of these companies are based in the United States and handle information there under the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
- Records of login attempts and other limits: up to a quarter of an hour.
- Scan notes and emails about scans: as long as they are useful to improve TEND, and no longer than two years.
- Orders and audits: for as long as TEND runs, so you can come back to your audit, and order records for as long as the law requires for accounts.
Why we are allowed to use it
To provide what you asked for (a scan, an audit, a quote), and our legitimate interest in running and improving TEND. We keep only what we need for those.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Email sam@seedandsolace.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
